I finally arrive at Friendster Part Deux
It started with Nerve and Friendster around Zap 1 and 2 then I dabbled a little in MySpace a few years later, but despite the hub-bub I wasn’t wowed — MySpace sucked, I quickly discovered. So I tossed away the idea of signing on to yet another social networking site, as I was already overwhelmed with not updating my blog — but after tinkering for a week or so Facebook is a big improvement over its older peers — with built in applications / games, RSS feeds, mobile updating - it is definitely a strong Web 2.5 app. I am impressed. Within a day or so, I found myself repeatedly looking for new updates/notifications, stalking photo galleries of friends I hadn’t been in touch with in awhile and playing Text Twirl — it is it’s own little world on the Internet and it’s addictive as hell.
But I still don’t know what “poking” someone does.
