Quadruple “X” ESPN Radio

While I was out of town, something BIG launched in DC — a new home for the Redsksins on the airwaves called Triple X ESPN Radio. Sports and Redsksins games will be simulcast on three radio stations (2 FM and 1 AM and a live audio stream on the Internet). Why three stations?
The three frequencies, plus the Internet, will give the station good coverage throughout the region. But none are high-powered enough to reach everyone on their own, and Zier admitted the listeners may have to scan the dial at first to acquire the best signal. He said the station is actively looking for even more frequencies.
What kind of name is “TRIPLE X ESPN RADIO” — it sounds like porn stars doing sports… not that there’s anything wrong with that, — but the name comes from the call letters of the three stations: FM-94.3 (WWXT), FM-92.7 (WWXX) and AM-730 (WXTR)..
If we want to get right down to it, it should be called QUADRUPLE “X” ESPN RADIO — WWXX has “2″ ‘X’s’ … so right there: misnomer.
Who owns “TRIPLE X”? Why, the multi-kazillionaire Dan Snyder, of course. Owner of the ‘Skins.
