SuperLego and a “Borat” Movie coming soon

Self-proclaimed international sneakerographer Al Cabino immediately had a response to me yesterday afternoon, when I mentioned a link to the eBay auction for a reproduction of the “McFlys” — the Nike PowerLace shoes seen in Back to the Future Part II (auction since removed as it’s a violation to post an item with a logo of a company without it’s actual endorsement) — which had over 11,000 views and one bid.

Official Response to the FAKE McFly Sneaker on eBay

“Sneakers are born to be worn. The FAKE McFly sneaker as seen on eBay is nothing more than a Fisher-Price toy. If sneaker fans want the McFlys, sign my petition.”

I have nothing but the most respect for Al. He is focused on making something real out of what some generally see as pop-culture minutae.

So just sign the petition, folks. There’s no way Nike will consider making them if they can’t tell you care.
