Oh Oh Veoh - The right stuff.

This past weekend my cousin Kathy Z. performed her senior recital (she’s an amazing cellist) as a part of her high school graduation — the Zagers gettin’ all growns up on us! Where does the time go, eh? Here, Kathy and my uncle Michael discuss the merits of despotism versus an oligarchial structure over some cold beverages post senior-recital.

Uber-Fan, coming to bookstores in 2007

Do you think you’re an Über-fan? Do your friends say “OMG — yeah, they’re WAYYYY into Michael Bolton” about you?
Do you have an insane collection of promotional beverage cans from Whitney Houston’s tour in 1986? You might be an Über-fan.

Author Michael D. Ayers plans to seek several of you freaks for his new book “Über-fan“.

For the next year, he’ll be writing a book based on his interviews with the über-fans to be released in 2007 through a yet-to-be-determined publisher — a funny, endearing examination of rabid fandom told from the perspective of a music fan/nerd himself. You can catch snippets along the way as he blogs about his travels, the writing process, the unique music fans he meets along the way, and their unbelievable dedication to musicians we may take for granted. Or could give a crap about.

I for one am super-psyched about the book, the blog, the whole enchilada — if you want to get all the über-updates like I do, join the über-list!!! It has the martyz.com seal of approval.

This video clip below comes from a brand new YouTube competitor, video-sharing site, still in beta that I discovered by myself (in saying “by myself” I mean “when Mike A. sent me a link”) called Veoh. The quality certainly outdoes YouTube — With Veoh taking over, I think YouTube is going to become what Friendster has become to MySpace… (repeat that sentence to your grandparents and see what their reaction is)

Also because I don’t know how to link things, I’d like to repeat yesterday’s freaky-Folger’s-commercial (via the boing).
(this version comes from video sharing site imeem.com – not to be confused with new video sharing site grouper.com — have these things multiplied like rabbits or what?

See the video in all it’s twisted-cultish glory here.

I’m still convinced that dude at the end looks way too much like Ben stiller without being Ben Stiller… really weird. But kudos to Folger’s for making an excellent viral-marketing campaign that is sure to add some coffee drinkers to it’s freaky sunshiney cult.
