Enzos and a new gamma

So the wrong Guy was interviewed on BBC. Very funny mixup.

:divbar:

flickr’s had quite a large overhaul, moving from “beta” to “gamma” — it’s lookin’ good…especially the new Organizr.

I saw it all after checking out this guy who started his own Ticket Stub project after seeing mine — check out his stubs — they put mine to shame. 1984 RHCP? Amazing.

The locations of over 27,000 fast food restaurants on a Google Maps + Fast Food hack — an idea about as a useful as a meal at McDonald’s, but hey — it’s what the nerds feast on so it’s gotta be done… I’m sure you’ll see it again on your car’s nav system in 10 years when the Internet is everywhere — WiMax, baby.

Remember that story I talked about where the Ferrari hit a utility pole, it sliced in half and the driver walked away with only a cut lip? That was only the very very very beginning of a strange, strange string of occurrences that could have been avoided if this guy 1) wasn’t driving like an a-hole 2) was driving some other kind of car.

Immediately after the accident, the “driver” claimed that he wasn’t the one driving and that some other dude named Deitrich was, and immediatley ran for the hills after the accident occurred… then some representatives from “Homeland Security” came and demanded to speak to this fellow…. check out the rest of the crazy story at CNN.

The latest Esquire has a great cover story / interview with Tom Hanks — he goes through an old box of photos and just talks about highlights from making some of his movies. Here’s one of my favorites, reprinted completely without permission:

“What I’m reminded of…is coming to New York when I was young and trying to make it as an actor…we were getting by on unemployment from the state of Ohio after work I’d done in the Great Lakes Shakespear Festival. I would get the unemployment checks and take them to Chemical Bank at Forty fourth and Broadway, but I couldn’t cash them. I had to deposit them and wait for them to clear. I can picutre myself on a cold February day, standing in line at that bank, with desperation in the air… I had to have a plan. …one that the check would clear and can pay certain bills, and two, the check won’t clear and I can take out seven dollars.

Well, now at that very corner at Forty-fourth and Broadway stands a Bubba Gump shrimp restaurant. I don’t get a dime from it. I’m not connected to the restaurant in any way. But when I first saw it, I said, “Oh, my God.” I mean, what more can I say about Forrest Gump?

So another officer has died who was shot in the Fairfax police station ambush shooting. He passed away last night, Officer Michael Garbarino.
