jane something…

Trivia question of the day — a shiny prize for the winner… in the late 80s, early 90s there was some rock/pop singer who had a chain from her nose to her ear — what the hell was her name and what the hell did she sing? I think it was Jane something…

Last night, after “Chinatown”, two beers and a CPK frozen pizza I was knocked on my ass and asleep before 10pm… I woke up this AM to find I had my XM radio on all night — (i haven’t paid for XM in two months, and I turned it on a two days ago to find that I was getting all the channels for twenty-free dollars…although maybe that was their secret ploy– to get me hooked again with a freebie then have to pay for another taste… well it worked!)

In other artsy-techie news pay, $800-$1800, spit in a cup and a few weeks later get some artwork for your living room… your DNA’s artwork, that is. Oh yeah, well my bathroom floor has some of MY DNA artwork. Oooooh gross… I didn’t mean THAT kind of DNA, you sicko! I just meant some hair and stuff. GOD, you are so perverted.. I don’t know WHY I hang out with you.

  2. mz - July 27th, 2005

thank you thank you, mr. chris h. … i hate not knowing something that i used to know in 1990. jane child is indeed her name..however you do not win the GRAND prize because you did not provide the title of her only hit song (that got to a whopping 29 on the Billboard) - “Don’t Wanna Fall In Love” — i’ll post a snippet when/if i track it down

and here I thought you were talking about Sebastian Bach

now why did you cancel the XM? Seriously, not for Sirius I hope.

  5. mz - July 27th, 2005

well the XM radio I have is an XM-PCR, a receiver that is strictly for the PC…so a PC and an XM subscription is required to hear the XM goodness..in March/April-ish my PC crashed — so I had an XM subscription and no PC to play it on… so i cancelled… now after several months my main PC is back online, so i repurchasched the subscription… really the only reason I have XM is to use it with Time Trax — the ultimate ‘time-shifting’ software wink wink… so i have many many mp3 backups of XM broadcasts wink wink

sirius is far superior anyways. who wants the MLB channel when you can get NFL Network? Howard Stern? XM-Clear Channel has a tough road ahead.

to be able to listen to any ball game anytime is a nice perk…XM has far better name recognition than sirius..at least until howard gets there in Jan.

they’ll need to merge eventually — there’s already strong demand for that to happen… it’s just a matter of time..

it might be due to city in terms of name recognition. XM housed in DC probably has more clout around them parts, but in NYC its X-What? Is that like Sirius?

  9. mikea the ruler of the universe - July 28th, 2005

Ps- Sirius won’t merge with XM because Sirius isn’t down with XM’s majority share holder.

  10. mz - July 28th, 2005

sirius was late to the satellite-radio table by like a year and still doesn’t have nearly as many receivers or the number of subscribers… plus Sirius’ stock value is a fraction of what XM is(XM 36.85 vs. Sirius 6.97)…

sirius sucks because it doesn’t have MLB and XM sucks because it doesn’t have NFL… XM sucks because they have Opie & Anthony and Sirius sucks because of it’s Eminem channel… etc. etc.. we can debate this all day, but we all know that I’m the smartest. the end.

Marty you better hope Colleen doesn’t read your website!!!

  12. mikea the ruler of the universe - July 28th, 2005

then by that logic, blockbuster is far superior than Netflix, b/c Netflix stock is at 19 and Viacom’s is at 34. Martyz.com stock just plumetted with that faulty reasoning, thus proving, once again, that mike ayers is the mostest smart person ever. oh and you suck.
