don’t panic

Let me just geek out for a second about how excited I am about “Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”

  • I read the book in junior high school and remember being excited that I finally discovered the meaning of life.
  • I PLAYED Infocom’s text adventure “Hitchhiker’s Guide” religiously on my Leading Edge IBM PC 80888 and I had the hardest time with one of the very first commands of the game “use analgesic” — the game TAUGHT me what the hell an “analgesic” was.
  • The fact that “Tim” from BBC’s “The Office” is in it AND Sam Rockwell as “Zaphod Beeblebrox” — it’s fan-friggin’ tastic.

There are some big big big movies coming this summer — it’s been awhile since some quality blockbusters have arrived. “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” ?? “Batman Begins?” “War of the Worlds?” “Star Wars Trois?!” It’s good to be a kid this summer.

Speaking of movies, Greg’s boy Ransford crashed here at Walker St. last night. I haven’t seen “Hostage” but apparently he’s “Mikey” in it. His publicity shots are quality — very “GQ-taye diggsy”.

I hate to say it, but the movie was disappointing. It was way better than the BBC movie, but disappointing all the same.
