death of Wing by wing

This was the craziest story I’ve seen in awhile.…. Albert Wing, a skydiver was killed this weekend in Florida, when a plane’s wing (the one he jumped from) severed his legs. Crazy stuff.

This weekend was LCG’s wedding reception bash. (Of course, my flash card is NOT around when I’m trying to post here… so pics up later). A quality affair which included ginormous portions of food at Maggiano’s (who btw wins the BCOTY for Zap 5 — (best cheesecake of the year). We also were seated at a fun table of people of all ages! Young AND old! I was also asked if anyone has ever told me I looked like “Andrew Agassi”.

Lesley and Mr. Clayton did it right by getting married on a cruise (a rogue wave-less cruise) and combined that with their honeymoon all in one massive blowout-on-the-sea. Very jealous was I, said MZ. This party on Saturday was the land-based reception.

What else happened this weekend?:

  • Jed of JMU fame got married in Vegas by Elvis Presley (thanks for the update GB — keith mayo: feel free to add details)
  • Meredith G turned 28 and new mother Kristin V turned 27.
  • Mike A and Diedre saw the Nationals lose horribly to the Mets on Saturday — I heard it was a beautiful day in NYC on Sat! (By beautiful I mean, cold wet and rainy. And cold. And rainy.)
  • Carrie and I bought tickets to the DC101 ChiliFest, Joss Stone (Wolf Trap - June 15) and Elvis Costello w/ Emmy Lou Harris (Wolftrap - July 31) and got drizzy at the premiere show of “Dangerous Kid” at the Grog N’ Tankard in G’town on Sat, Jay R’s new side project post-”The Worry Stones”.
  • We also watched Kill Bill Vol’s 1 and 2 for the first time this weekend. For anyone that has seen it: are there ANY subtitles in the movie or did you just have to guess what they were saying in Japanese??? (The DVD we saw contained no subtitling at any part of the movie) Carrie then told me the very funny and similar story of her friend Anne (now in Vietnam) who saw “Pleasantville” on a plane once and something was wrong with the screen: that it was only in black and white — so she saw the entire movie JUST in black and white. Funny.
