songs of my TJ
TJ jammed java in Vienna VA last night and officially released his new solo project “Songs of my Soul” — his latest gospel venture. (If you’re unclear as to whether it’s a gospel album, he’s standing in front of a church to alleviate any confusion).
I did get to meet TJ’s ‘phew Jake at the show… he did not seem interested in me in the slightest…but he is 10 months old.. soo.. maybe give him a little time.
Regardless, TJ still knows how to rock old school — and he’s still a black southern railroad worker yearning to break free out of a suburban white kid.
I told Carrie of some old “homegrown acoustic” times when I used to come onstage at Rhodeside and perform with Kola, Wes & TJ the “Gin & Juice” medley — which would include acoustic versions of “the Humpty Dance”, “Parent’s just don’t understand” and the beastie boys’ “get it together”. Carrie said my mostly booze induced performance most probably consisted of “a lot of razzle but no dazzle.” (that expression (C)2005 Carrie Hamilton LLC, LTC )
I gotta say I’m not too happy about flickr selling out to the man so quickly — they’re not even out of beta! what the dilly? If I see one f’ing Yahoo logo creep up on my website via flickr photo i’m going to be cry like a whiny 5 year old.

I was going to go…I didn’t. boo on me.
Sure, sure, Marty tore it up…on the nights when they actually turned the mike on. j/k
actually they did have to turn OFF the mic soon after I was on it…. because they were like “Marty— we can’t handle your greatness — it’s just too much” They told me that. Really. You can doctor tapes.
I WAS going to tell you Marty how fun/good it was when you got up and sang with them, but now that you are all big headed about it I’m not going to say it. You get no razzle with your dazzle.
TJ is hot.
there seems to be a common theme with me and my big head — it may be spherical and quite pointy at parts but i cry myself to sleep every night on my big pillow.
