NYC + Education-challenged athletes
You’ll notice there was no entry for March 17. That’s because mz.com was having a day of silence for St. Patrick and the uh, shamrock– uhm.. Actually, I was just busy as a mofo. Sorry. But I’m going to NYC tonight with Carrie and will be having special weekend updates of mz.com so stay tuned.
There’s an article in the post today about the NCAA possibly beginning to disqualify teams from postseason with poor academic performance by student athetletes. Currently 4 out of 10 players on big-time basketball teams graduate. Hey, that’s plenty. In fact, that’s a shockingly high number. I think they should get a bonus if they graduate (which they may already) because those guys train like crazy. Do those star athletes really have time to learn long division and the state capitals?
