Filmfest & LC’s new ride

Early Saturday morning I
picked up Lesley C in Manassas and drove her to Alexandria to pick
up her new baby.

Her baby being a Mazda RX-8.
It looks like it came from Zap 23.

In return I was treated to Krispy
Kreme doughnuts. Through a window, I watched them being
made with a group of Cub Scouts. I might’ve been 15 years older
than them, but we all had the same big-shiny look in
our eye of realizing we were in the greatest place on earth.
I even got a free hat!
Yes, folks. I’m a big, dumb
kid.

If you do happen upon a Krispy
Kreme,  I recommend staying away from the Bavarian-Creme filled.. If I had blood-sugar problems, I would’ve gone into some hyperglemic shock. That mofo was SWEET. It tasted like sugar coated with sugar, dipped in sugar.

That evening was
the 3rd Annual Guerilla FilmFest at the Carnegie Institute with
Andrea & Greg. It showcased short films outside the realm of independent studios. Two (2) short films
stood out for me. One was a funny animated short about a robot comedian controlled by aliens; very Pixar-esque and the other was an emotional one about
a family coping with the loss of their Mom, >Melissa Gold — “girlfriend/galpal” of rock promoter Bill Graham who both died in a helicopter crash
in 1991.

Cheap drinks afterward at
a crowded Bar Rouge with the FilmFest ticket stub. I lost mine
within 3 minutes of leaving the theater, but that didn’t
seem to be a problem. Andrea recommends the ‘Lurid
Libation’. It kinda
tasted like a fruity Laffy Taffy. Greg recommends Amstel Light.

Sunday night was an early >Thanksgiving Dinner at Mama Z’s. Of course, she went all out and what’s even better is I have mad leftovers. >My Mom can cook better than your Mom.
